Purely BFL 150
$45.00 CDN
This 100% Superwash BFL Fingering yarn has a lovely sturdy yet soft hand and smooth twist, making it perfect for lace shawls, cowls, and lightweight garments. What does BFL stand for? Bluefaced Leicester. It is a breed of sheep that has a longer staple length than merino and is less prone to pilling. While not quite as soft as merino, this wool is still quite fine and has a beautiful hand. The larger 150g put-up gives a nice amount of yardage, one skein will often make a lovely sized shawl. While this wool is nylon-free, some may find the longer staple length of the BFL breed to be suitable for socks. You could always use a reinforcing thread in the harder-wearing areas if this is a concern. Look at my Fine Foot BFL base if you prefer a wool/nylon blend for your socks.
